Having the three different size needles allows you to use 1 single strand of thread to 6 strands of floss. We recommend and use the VALDANI 3 Strand floss for our patterns or whenever a pattern calls for 3 strands of floss.With this particular punch needle you are able to change the depth of the stitch. The instruction booklet allows you to self teach on how to punch needle anything! It is so thorough, that if you put a project away for a couple months and forgot how to punch needle, just get out the booklet and it has great illustrations for reference. This is the only punch needle set that we sell.It has it all!
